Puerto Vallarta 2013 - Day Seven

Part of our upgrade included room service, so Chris and I decided to have breakfast in bed today. I had waffles and Chris had an omelette. The hotel had delivered fruit and champagne the day before so we added the champagne to our orange juice. Had to sneak the little towel creatures in to the pic as well.

Also part of our upgrade was the use of these little cabanas. I usually preferred the sun, but these came in handy when it was started getting hot and it was siesta time.

I felt like today was the day that I finally started really relaxing.

So sad to know that we will be leaving tomorrow!

Puerto Vallarta 2013 - Day Six

Today started off much like most days...except my relaxation was interrupted by being told that I would be attending a time share presentation. It ended up only being two hours and was not high pressure, and the guys got the free upgrade for the last two days that they had wanted. I would have been happy with two extra hours in the sunshine...but oh well :)

I'll share some of our up ugrades in tomorrow's blog.

We had heard from many people, before we left for our trip and while we were on our trip, that if we were to go on just one excursion, the "Rhythms of the Night" was the one to see.

They picked you up just around dinner time and took you on a boat ride across the bay to an island called "Los Caletas".

They even had the crew provide us with some entertainment!

The ride was very enjoyable and romantic.

As we neared the island, the sun was setting. Very perfect timing...

As we got even closer, we could see torches and candles lighting up the entire island.

Once on the island our boat went to see the show first. The show was great! It was filled with beautiful costumes, dancing with gymnastics influences and flame dancing. Sadly we were not allowed to take pictures. After the show, we were taken down the beach a ways to have our dinner by candlelight. Once again, the food was excellent and the whole evening was a wonderful experience.

I have heard the day excursion to Los Caletas is great too, so maybe next time we can check that one out.

Puerto Vallarta 2013 - Day Five

On Wednesday, we decided to go to the little town of Bucerias. It was a nice morning of getting a few souvenirs, then having shrimp and beer at the beach.

The market...where there are lots of K-mart specials and people wanting you to come and look at their "junk". Haha!

You may be familiar with "Fat Boy Burgers" at home...

in Mexico it's "Fat Boy Seafood".

If you are a shrimp-lover, Mexico is the place to be...

look at the size of that shrimp!

We've since found this beer at home, but somehow it tastes better when you're hot and at the beach!

When our entertainer found out that we were from Vancouver, he sang a Bryan Adams song for us.

Later, back at the hotel, the entire buffet was moved to the beach for the evening. Apparently this was the first time the hotel has done this and I would have to say it was a success!
